Chef Davide Bisetto, who earned the Hotel Cipriani's Oro restaurant its first Michelin star, elevates the concept of uniqueness and, in this anomalous summer, dares to surprise with brilliant elegance.
For the occasion, Oro transforms and rediscovers the pleasure of convivial dining. As of Wednesday, 1 July, the gastronomic temple at the Giudecca, is transformed with casual flair, where the chef is the master of the house and welcomes his guests. Here, ensconced in an atmosphere of purest intimacy, the lucky diners will immediately sense they are in for a unique experience accompanied by the chef who, almost as if he were at home, interacts in everything and for everything, from the kitchen to the dining room.
There is no menu. Instead, there is a list of ingredients that vary according to what the chef finds that day at the market and picks out from among its delicacies. The cuisine is familiar with local tradition and is structured around the concepts of courtyard, vegetable garden and lagoon, strictly selecting the most locally-available ingredients, collected and interpreted by Chef Bisetto.
The symbolic products of the lagoon also liven up the mise en place, thanks to the original artefacts of local craftsmen: Murano glass domes, for example, to recall St Mark's Basilica, or the precious hand-woven Burano lace.
And finally, there is the soundtrack. Guests are invited to choose their favourite music, to accompany the evening and to mark the succession of courses.
For the summer of 2020, Cipriani and Chef Bisetto also have other surprises in store. The Residence Kitchen was born on board the Edipo Re, the historic boat that belonged to Pier Paolo Pasolini, and that for two years has been one of the most emblematic experiences of the Belmond. Here guests will find unmissable opportunities for lunch on board together with five other local chefs to celebrate the reopening of the city.
