Castello di Casole is delighted to announce authentic and inimitable experiences that showcase the unique features of the area surrounding the resort, combined with the excellent standards of Belmond service.
SO WE WENT OUT TO SEE THE STARS AGAIN
Castello di Casole has devised ‘starry’ initiatives for its guests, focusing on the heavens. The hotel has been awarded by Astronomitaly, the Astrotourism Network, with the quality certification ‘I cieli più belli d’Italia’ (Italy’s most beautiful skies). This assessment of ‘astrotourism’ quality and commitment to protecting and promoting celestial heritage resulted in the highest possible rating, the Gold level. Castello di Casole therefore also offers unforgettable and very rare night-time experiences. Here, as darkness falls, the Milky Way unfolds in all its splendour above the estate’s ancient amphitheatre and the mysterious Andromeda Galaxy is also visible to the eye. This year, the Tuscan destination, in collaboration with Astronomitaly, is offering its guests activities such as observing the stars with the naked eye and with a telescope at the Amphitheatre and virtual reality astrotours in the Library.
The 2021 season will also feature a number of themed events. To acquaint guests with the art of stargazing, namely the art of knowing how to observe the stars and grasp their innermost meanings, dinners will be organised in the courtyard to offer spectacles of peerless wonder.
Dinners under the stars will be held on: 25 June, 10 July, 2 and 13 August, and 20 September.
CARE AND BEAUTY
Castello di Casole wishes to introduce its guests to the thousand-year history of this place, which was inhabited by the fascinating Etruscans who, inspired by the beauty of the surrounding landscape, produced objects of inimitable beauty, now preserved in the Casole d’Elsa Archaeological Museum and in the hotel’s spa.
The Etruscans considered well-being and beauty to be interconnected – caring for the body was caring for the soul. Holistic wellness
ante litteram, which Castello di Casole wants its guests to experience through a natural cosmetics workshop in the property’s gardens – a journey through rituals, recipes and cosmetics during which you become an Etruscan for a day, creating your own wellness product.
The day ends in the castle’s charming spa, formerly used as a wine cellar, where you can regenerate your mind, body and spirit with rituals enriched with herbs and essential oils, following in the footsteps of the Etruscans.
SOPHISTICATED TASTINGS WITH MARCHESI ANTINORI: 7-10 OCTOBER
This season Belmond is launching the Curiosity Circles, exclusive weekends that allow you to broaden your horizons and further your personal and intellectual growth with experiences focused on the local area, history, crafts and art.
From 7 to 10 October, Castello di Casole is presenting three days dedicated to discovering some of the most sought-after Italian wines in collaboration with Marchesi Antinori, one of the oldest and best-known wineries in Italy. The three days in Tuscany are intended for collectors and wine lovers who, with Belmond, can enjoy the exclusive opportunity of passing through private doors and meeting those who have passionately shaped and continue to shape the history of Marchesi Antinori; a story that has been handed down through 26 generations.
Accompanied by Tom Harrow, one of the world’s leading wine experts, guests will visit Tenuta Tignanello, in Chianti Classico, and Tenuta Guado al Tasso in Bolgheri, on the Tuscan coast, places that are not accessible to the public, but which will exclusively open their doors on these dates to reveal all their history and beauty. Guests will have an opportunity to learn more about the distinctive features of the specific terroirs, at the height of the harvest season, through exquisite tastings of the most iconic wines produced by the two estates.
The weekend package includes an overnight stay at Castello di Casole for 3 nights. For more information and to book the activities and accommodation package:
