Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel announces its reopening

Copacabana Palace, the most traditional and sophisticated hotel in Rio de Janeiro, is preparing to reopen on August 20, after a temporary closure due to the recent pandemic. The art of receiving and providing unique moments is what makes Copa one of the best hotels in the country. For this reason, the reopening format was carefully planned to ensure maximum safety for everyone, always preserving excellence and quality in services.

Long awaited by hotel employees and visitors, the reopening happens gradually and brings some news. “Over the past few months, we have worked tirelessly with the different areas of the hotel to ensure a safe and peaceful return to Copa employees, guests and customers. This is our highest priority. We are very happy to open our doors again! ”, says the General Manager of Copacabana Palace.

From check-in to check-out, safety and hygiene measures have been implemented so that guests and customers feel safe and comfortable at all times. Hand sanitizer stations were scattered throughout the hotel, as well as distancing rules were implemented in areas of greater circulation, such as the swimming pool and restaurants. In addition, spaces such as the Spa and the fitness center gained a new booking scheme to avoid being used by more than one family at the same time.

One great news is the Belmond App, which will streamline the guest's interaction with the hotel even before their arrival. Through the app, it will be possible, for example, to check-in earlier, to inform about the minibar preferences, to know the restaurant menus and make reservations, to access the Copa services directory, among other facilities.

At this first moment, Pérgula will be the only restaurant available. With that, the hotel's chefs developed a special and broader gastronomic proposal, which included some of Cipriani's experiences - with Italian Mediterranean cuisine dishes  - and MEE's “best seller” items, but without losing the original concept of Pérgula, which are the grilled recipes. The breakfast, originally served in buffet format, will now be à la carte. The Cipriani and MEE restaurants will reopen later.

It is important to mention that Copacabana Palace has wide open air spaces, as the pool area, Pergula, bars and balconies, ideal places to enjoy the day with all the comfort and security, have a drink, eat meals or simply relax and enjoy the best the hotel has to offer.

The reopening will also feature new packages that promise to surprise. There are four exclusive products that encourage the use of outdoor environments and contact with nature, ideal for trips for two, with family, among friends or simply for those who want to escape the routine.

The Exclusive Places experience is one of the most promising. When you choose this package, the sixth floor - the most desired in the hotel - is entirely available for the guest and their family. There are four penthouse suites with terrace and sea view, a lounge for meals and the famous Black Pool available for the exclusive use of the group, in addition to personalized services.

The Staycation program offers up to 30 hours of stay, with guaranteed check-in from 10 am and check-out until 4pm in the next day, and also includes breakfast for two, plus a R$ 200,00 credit to use in the Pérgula restaurant. It is the perfect option for those looking to rest in their own city.

Stay a little longer is a package that offers an extra night for bookings of 3 nights. The idea is that the guest extend the trip a little more to relax and recharge.
