From June 5 – 7, 2025, Belmond and Martin Brudnizki hosted an exclusive three-day preview event at Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino, to celebrate its grand reopening and showcase a refined, meticulous multi-year renovation led by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. The event also unveiled Villa Beatrice, Belmond’s one-of-a-kind, majestic summer residency launching in July.
The event drew tastemakers and high-profile guests from the worlds of film, fashion, and sports, including recording artist and actor Jeff Goldblum, actress Kelly Rutherford, film director Baz Luhrmann, supermodel Tina Tunakey, costume designer and producer Catherine Martin, pro tennis player Ana Ivanović, and designer Luke Edward Hall.
Evening festivities began on June 5 with a takeover of Portofino’s Piazzetta for an aperitivo and al-fresco dinner at DaV Mare, Splendido Mare’s restaurant helmed by the family Cerea. On June 6, a special performance by Jeff Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, joined by guest singer Emma Smith, highlighted the evening at Splendido, which started with cocktails at the new Baratta Sedici, continued with a gourmet dinner crafted by Chef Corrado Corti at La Terrazza, and concluded with an energetic DJ set by Disco Bambino.
During their stay, guests experienced Splendido’s newly redesigned elegant rooms and suites, the glamorous new cocktail bar, the cinematic pool overlooking Portofino Bay, and Italy’s first permanent Dior Spa. The program offered a preview of the hotel’s forthcoming cultural and leisure offerings, including tennis classes, speedboat excursions, eco-farm tours, Riviera beach sunbathing, spa treatments, and more.
