Splendido and Splendido Mare, All Belmond Hotels, Portofino season 2022 reopening

The re-opening of the Splendido and Splendido Mare Hotels for the
2022 season sounds like a sincere declaration of love to Portofino.
Splendido Mare was the first to re-open its doors to guests from March 25th. Splendido Mare
instead is getting started to restart its activities on April 1st. The new chapter in the history of
these iconic hotels brings new, exciting, and delicious experiences alongside renewing ones. The
distinctive initiatives on gastronomy, sailing, and cinema aim at valuing such a unique
destination that is also projected towards the future.

SPRING REGATTAS 2022
After the great success of the 2021 edition, Splendido Mare, acting as Official Hospitality Partner,
brings back to Portofino the traditional Spring Regattas. The local community can not wait to
welcome back this event, as demonstrated by the great enthusiasm for re-discovering a
competition that returns as a celebration for all. The 2022 edition, scheduled from April 22nd to
April 25th, will see 15 crews competing on cruiser-racer boats. For the occasion, the guests of
Splendido Mare will be able to take advantage of a 20% discount on the best rate on a stay of
minimum two nights throughout the duration of the event. The opening ceremony to the event
on the evening of April 23rd will involve the fascinating traditional San Giorgio’s fires. Definitely a
show not to miss.

CINEMA IN BLU
Splendido and Splendido Mare in partnership with the Riviera International Film Festival of
Sestri Levante will organize, starting from May, three evenings ‘under the stars’ dedicated to
cinema in the heart of the iconic Piazzetta. A screen set up overlooking the magnificent
Portofino bay will offer guests and passers-by the opportunity to see movies created by young
emerging talents on themes such as art, travel, and sustainability. It is an initiative that aims at
re-stating our ties with the village and the local community, celebrating what Portofino has
been representing for the movie industry and for the "Dolce Vita". In the upcoming weeks more
information on these events will be shared.

IT HAPPENS AT THE SPLENDIDO
Starting from the upcoming season the guests of Splendido staying in one of our Suite or Junior
Suite will be welcomed by a curated private library featuring a fine selection of publications
inspired by the legendary charm of the Italian Riviera. Guests sojourning in our Suite will also
find a new set of amenities such as CD and vinyl records with the iconic songs by Vladimiro
Gatto, the historic pianist of the Hotel, and an exclusive collection of the iconic recipes of the
hotel’s restaurant of the last 30 years curated by Executive Chef Corrado Corti. Among the new
experiences available to guests there is the possibility to dine under the stars in the new Le
terrazze. Two terraces placed in the hotel park just above the swimming pool will be reserved
for two tables for 6 and 10 people from which it will be possible to enjoy a private dinner under
the starry sky with a unique view on the Portofino bay. For what concerns the La Terrazza
restaurant and the Pool Bar instead, soon will be announced the calendar of eventful dinners
that will see chef and famous pizzaioli joining the hotel’s brigade preparing meals “four hands”.

IT HAPPENS AT THE SPLENDIDO MARE & BAGNI FIORE
Splendido Mare, the magnificent and charming guest-house overlooking the Piazzetta of
Portofino which has been completely renovated last year, is back welcoming guests for the 2022
season with an incomparable culinary offer. The collaboration with the Da Vittorio group at the
DaV Mare restaurant will delight even the most demanding palates thanks to a menu skilfully
created by Chef Roberto Villa and the new Head Chef Davide Galbiati. The refined yet simple
reinterpretation of the local culinary tradition is executed through dishes such as the Crudo
“D’Amare”, the “Plateau of Gillardeay and Belon oysters” and the scenographic “Antipasto DaV
Mare Portofino”. Guests will also be able to enjoy the newly re-designed bar serving KM 0
excellence and innovation. The new cocktail list includes cocktails that include at least one local
ingredient and named after each room of the hotel. Moreover, two new low alcohol drinks and
ice sculpted by a genevese ice-designer are featured as new additions. Numerous new
proposals are also awaiting guests of the Bagni Fiore, the exclusive beach club in the heart of
the incontaminated Paraggi bay. There the iconic red beach cabins have been completely
re-interpreted by Studio Festen in addition to larger and renewed deckchairs.
