British artist Nancy Cadogan and The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel in London has announced a new artist collaboration as the hotel reopens since global lockdown. Nancy Cadogan has created three exclusive face mask designs based on images from her 2019 breakout exhibition, Mind Zero, held at the Saatchi Gallery last summer. The hotel will also feature the artist’s work within the hotel and an Artist Talk where she will discuss her new 2020 exhibition, Gusto. Cadogan also joins the hotel as one of the it’s exclusive Experience partners.
Northamptonshire based Cadogan has been working from her home studio throughout the global lockdown, preparing for her new show Gusto at the Keats Shelley House in Rome. She came to global attention in 2019 with two summer exhibitions – Mind Zero and Footnotes. Her work has been described as ‘heaven on canvas’ and praised as the ‘new Paula Rego’ by Tatler magazine.
The Cadogan and bar and restaurant, Adam Handling Chelsea closed its doors on 27th March following UK government guidelines and reopened on 1 August 2020. The Cadogan reopened in February 2019 under Belmond management following a four-year sensitive restoration and remains one of London’s most historic and iconic luxury hotel destinations. This summer, guests will have access to private gardens for slow afternoons indulging in Afternoon tea on the lawn, taste the new, innovative, sustainable zero waste menus served on the open terrace overlooking Sloane Street before retreating to spacious suites full of home from home comforts and luxuries.
Artist Nancy Cadogan said, “As galleries, museums and hotels gradually begin to reopen, it was important for me to forge a connection between art and the current state of the world. Designing these face masks for Belmond Cadogan Hotel was a way to join the global effort in protecting and preventing further cases of coronavirus so that we can all continue to enjoy and interact with these spaces.”
Nancy Cadogan X Belmond Cadogan exclusive face masks will be provided to all guests staying at the hotel and her work goes on show from 1 August 2020.
